Matthew Shepard: 17 Years Later

It is hard to believe that it has been 17 years since the night Matthew Shepard was beaten and left for dead in a field near Laramie, Wyoming. Matthew was only 21 when he died in 1998. I remember those events so clearly. Learning about this young Gay man that was just having a good time at a local Gay bar and then attacked. 200th Episode of Bear With Me

I started this year long project on January 10th of this year and challenged myself to do a vlog a day for one year until I turned 40. Today, we have been together for 200 days and 200 episodes. Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue

Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue (CCDR) is a National Non-Profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing needy Dachshunds and Dachshund mixes from coast to coast. CCDR has been very successful in achieving the goal to find loving families and forever homes for the dogs they've taken in. Pixels Movie Review

Pixels is the story were the "losers" becomes the "winners"....kind of. Adam Sandler leads a comedy cast of actors on a lame and often boring adventure to save the world from aliens that have taken the form of 1980's video arcade game characters. What had the potential of being something original ends up being as lifeless as the Arcade industry. I usually try to go for a positive spin on my reviews, not this time.

Funko's Inside Out Mystery Minis (Disney/Pixar)

Disney/Pixar's Inside Out is one of the best movies released this Summer and one of my Top Five Pixar movies. Funko recently released a set of Mystery Minis to go along with this mega successful movie. When I came across a case of the blind boxes at my local Hot Topic, I had to check them out. In the late 80's, I would spend my Saturday afternoons screaming at the television screen in my parent's bedroom helping Hulk Hogan, The Junkyard Dog and Jake The Snake prance around the ring during WWF Hour. When Friendships Spoil?

We are about half way through the year and it is around this time that I reflect upon my relationships with other. I think of friendships a lot like cooking. The ingredients you put into the friendship can make it the best meal ever but sometimes it can end in food poisoning. Gay Man VS. The Color Pink

I have always hated the color Pink and recently that has been an internal conversation I have been having with myself. Is it because I am a Gay Man and Pink is often thought of as a feminine color? Possibly. The Pink Triangle, which was once used to identify Gay Men in WWII is now source of empowerment for many in the LGBTI Community. So what is my problem with this color? I take a few minutes to look reflect upon my dislike for the color Pink and where that comes from.

Marriage VS. The Clerk's Office

Why does someone always have to be a jerk when it comes to Love? There have been reports of some white women refusing to issue marriage certificates to LGBT couples. One has even gone so far as to resign from her job (no lose there) while others have issued public statements that they wont do their jobs because of religious reasons. Here are my thoughts on who should replace these lovely ladies of the Clerk's office.

This weekend, members of the LGBTI community gathered at the King Avenue UMC to celebrate the SCOTUS marriage equality ruling. A posting on Facebook about the celebration has brought out all the local Internet Trolls and boy is it some interesting reading. Reactions To Homophobia Vlog

Another day, another string of anti-Gay and Homophobic comments. It was a very interesting the range of responses to my Vlog yesterday I received from the Facebook pages and Sites that I posted on.  There were some wonderful feedback and positive messages of encouragement and I thank them all for that. Then there were the ones that were hate filled and nasty. Here are just a few of those winners I got. Stop Homophobia and remember Love is Life!

SCOTUS Confirmed Marriage Equality

Today, History was made. The Supreme Court of the United States with a 5/4 have confirmed that the ban on Same Sex Marriage is unconstitutional. I never thought, I would live to see the day when I would be able to legally marry the person I love. It has been a very emotional day for me and I had to share this with you. This was was hardest to vlog to do because I am not one to publicly show my emotions. But I had to get it out. Love is LIFE!

Netflix's Sense8 Review

What happens when eight random people from all over the world are suddenly mentally connected to each other? This is the basic plot to Netflix's newest "Beng Series" called Sense8. This show is very hot! If you are looking for a series that has everything,  Sense8 is the show for you. It has romance, action, scifi and some of the hottest "adult situations" I have ever seen on a Netflix series. Without a lot of advertising and push from Netflix, Sense8 is quickly developing a cult following and needs to be in your cue ASAP. Image Comics' Jupiter's Legacy & Jupiter's Circle

Jupiter's Legacy is a superhero comic book limited series, published in 2013, written by Mark Millar, drawn by Frank Quitely, colored and lettered by Peter Doherty and published by Image Comics. Jupiter's Circle is the prequel to Jupiter's Legacy published in 2015. Written by Mark Millar and drawn by Wilfredo Torres, we get more of the backstory and the original members's history. It has been a long time that a comic book series captivated me as much as Jupiter's Legacy and Jupiter's Circle. These are a must read!

BER: DC's Comics Midnighter # 1

There aren't a lot of LGBT characters in comics that star in their own series. Basically, I could only think of three and they were all from DC Comics. Joining Catwoman and Batwoman is crime fighter Midnighter on your local comic book shelf. Created by writer Warren Ellis and artist Bryan Hitch, he first appeared in Stormwatch (vol. 2) No. 4, before appearing in various Authority books and series in the DC Universe. Midnighter #1 was written by Steve Orlando and Art by Aco. I have some very mixed feelings about this first issue of Midnighter. Check out this Bear Essential Review for all the details.

Get ready for the war to end the obsession by The Capital. Leading the way is Katniss Everdeen, The Girl On Fire! The last part of the Hunger Games series will be hitting theaters on November 20th and the trailer has me extremely excited. This series has captured my heart and I can't wait to share my thoughts about the trailer that was released today. Will the people of Panem be free? Will President Snow get what's coming to him? San Andreas Movie Review

This Rock is Rolling! This Summer's disaster film, San Andreas, is so bad that it's good. San Andreas has everything but a great white shark attack. We follow the action unfold as a major earthquake ripples through California from LA to San Francisco and we need to rescue The Rock's ex-wife, then his daughter and possibly his dog in-between. Are you ready to do the DEWshine? Dewshine is the latest release of bubbly soda beverage flavors from the Mountain Dew brand. Advertised as a clear citrus flavor and bottle in a vintage style glass bottle, DEWshine is made with real sugar and boy can you taste the difference. It's an interesting blend that reminded me of Pepsi's attempt in the 90's with Crystal Pepsi. Check out my review of DEWshine for more details.

I love my Disney Villains and they are finally getting their due with Funko's Disney Heroes VS. Villains Mystery Minis! I was so excited to discover these fun little figures at Third Eye Comics in Maryland and just had to add a couple to my collection. They are highly detailed and much larger then the classic Mystery Minis. The cool thing is that you can get never before released characters like Captain Gantu, Heimlich and Hopper.
