Would You Date Me? Being Body Positive In A Bear World

A recent study published by the Clinical Journal of Nursing and the University of Miami states that Gay men who identify themselves as "Bears" suffer from lower self-esteem and are more likely going to engage in riskier sexual activities. Be Known for Your Flawless: CDC Anti-Smoking Ad With Drag Queen

In the US, young LGBT adults are twice as likely to smoke as other young people. As a result, tens of thousands of LGBT people die from smoking-related illnesses every year. The Food and Drug Administration recently decided to step in and launch “This Free Life,”  a  $35.7 million campaign and the first-ever, federal anti-smoking campaign aimed at young LGBT folks.Here's one of the campaign's cheekiest ads, "Be Known for Your Flawless," which also happens to be the first federal ad to feature drag queens.

AIDS Killed Prince! The headline screamed in bright yellow words on the National Enquirer as I stood checking out one afternoon at a local supermarket. As I read these words, I was transported back to the 80s and the 90s.
